Kensington is a small neighborhood in the central part of Brooklyn. It has a population of about 40,000 people in about three quarters of a square mile.
This neighborhood was originally settled by Dutch Farmers. It was properly developed in the 1800s along with the development of Brooklyn’s major road Ocean Parkway. Kensington faced a major post-WW2 boom. Many apartments and co-ops were set up for the veterans of the global conflict.
To get to Kensington you can take the F or G subway lines as well as many bus lines. By car, you can access the neighborhood via Ocean Parkway as well as the Prospect Expressway.
