When you are moving, there are probably a million questions you ask yourself. The first question being the most relevant, “What am I going to do?” There are many Frequently Asked Moving Questions to consider.
While the move process may seem daunting, we’ve compiled a Frequently Asked Moving Questions list that will prove beneficial in the early stages of your planning process.

How much does it cost to move?
- Every move is different and therefore every move could have different costs associated. A local move will be rated at a flat or hourly rate while a long distance move will be rated by weight plus mileage, and can be non-binding or binding.

Do you supply the boxes or do we have to get them ourselves?
- We have boxes for sale or you can buy boxes yourself. Additionally, we have used boxes (depending on inventory) for free. Check out our blog post on Moving Containers.

Do you have storage?
- Yes, we have a full service, private warehouse for your items. It is fully secured with 24/7 monitoring systems, plus fire alarms and sprinklers. Since it is a private warehouse, it is not open to the public nor is it accessible to take things out at will.

Do you charge a flat rate or by the hour?
- We do both. Every move is different and therefore every move will have different specifications. After discussing the details, a formal quote will be given to you.

Do you move long distance?
- We are an Agent for Wheaton Van Lines and have the capabilities of moving you anywhere in the continental United States.

Do you move International?
- With our international partners, we’re able to fully facilitate an International Move. We have moved people to Italy, England, Ireland, Spain, Japan, Hong Kong and many more countries.

Are you insured?
- Yes, we are fully insured as required by law for a Moving Company in New York and New Jersey (as well as with Wheaton).

Are you licensed?
- We are licensed for local moving work in New York and New Jersey, and interstate moving with the DOT and Wheaton Van Lines. Our NY DOT Number is 974. Our NJ License Number is 39PC00102800. Our US DOT Number is 17632.

What happens if something is broken?
- In the unlikely event that something is damaged, we will work together to figure out the best course of action. Since every move is automatically insured at a state minimum, compensation will be made. Ask your move consultant regarding purchasing an additional insurance option as well as the rules and regulations involved.

Can you come take a look at my moving job?
- We offer on-site surveys and estimates. An appointment can be made by calling our office or sending in a Request An Estimate form.

Do you work on weekends?
- We work on Saturday; however, we do not work on Sunday. Moving is a difficult profession and our movers deserve a day of rest.

How many movers do you use?
- Every move is different and each move will require a different amount of movers. After discussing the details of your move, your moving consultant will be able to advise on how many movers you need.

Should I tip? If so, how much?
- Yes, tipping is always recommended as moving is a difficult profession. An average tip is anywhere from $25.00-$200.00. This is dependent on your specific move and the details involved.

How do I pay?
- Payment can be done with a Credit Card, bank check or cash. Upon booking your move, your move consultant will discuss your options and an agreement can be made.

Can your company provide a Certificate of Insurance to my building? Is there a fee?
- Yes, we can provide a Certificate of Insurance (or, COI) to your building management office prior to the move. All we need is the Certificate Holder and if there are any additional insured and we can provide it in under 24 hours. There is NEVER a fee involved in producing this important and often required piece of paperwork.
