In 1922, Flatbush Moving’s founder, Dominic Liantonio, owned and operated an Ice Block truck. Back when household refrigeration was a luxury, trucks would deliver huge blocks of ice to homes as a way to preserve food. One day, a neighbor in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn asked Dominic if he could move some things to their summer house at Rockaway Beach. That was the day Flatbush Moving Van Company was born.
Decades later, Dominic’s sons John and Joseph returned home from 5 years of service in World War II, ready to help run the family business. In a matter of years, they took the reins and expanded the small moving company into an impressive fleet of vans and state of the art storage facilities.
Through the years, Flatbush Moving has been quick to adjust with the changing times. Partnering with Wheaton Van Lines in the 1980s, the third-generation owner John Liantonio Jr. gave Flatbush Moving a continental and global reach. In an ever-shrinking world, it was easily recognizable that a vast network of moving company’s around the country and the globe is important.
As technology progresses, so does Flatbush Moving. With their fourth generation member of Flatbush Moving, Joseph, they are quick to the new trends, ensuring a state of the art relocation process. The future of trucking and relocation is on the horizon, and Flatbush Moving will be on the forefront of those changes.
With a team of employees that share the values and commitment of a four generation family owned business, Flatbush Moving will take the utmost care of your belongings, whether you’re moving a house, an office or anything in between.
